What is the weather like?

With the average temperature holding steady in between 82 and 91 degrees Fahrenheit (Between 28 and 33 degrees Celsius), you’re bound to love the weather at Sansara no matter what time of year you plan your trip to Cambutal! Chilly nights are a rarity and we recommend you pack for the sun.

Cambutal, Panama is seated in the arco seco, or the “dry Pacific arc”, a nickname given to the area because of the low rainfall it experiences during its rainy season. Here is an overview of what to expect from the weather in Cambutal and a few other details to help you plan your trip at the optimal time for you:

Dry Season (December through May)

This is the peak season for surfing, river/waterfall excursions, hiking, and optimal sun tanning. Experiencing little to no rainfall each day leaves you feeling sun-kissed and refreshed by the warm ocean waters.

Green Season (June through November)

During this season you can expect sunshine on and off with scattered rain showers and puffy white clouds. For the most part, it is generally very nice out every day. When large storms move in, you can expect rain all day for a few days. Usually these “temporals” last two to three days and happen a few times a year, but quickly clear and the weather is nice once again. Some of the advantages of visiting at this time of year is seeing the surrounding jungle is at its lushest, the surf is still up, whale watching is very rewarding, and you can witness the hatching of thousands of baby sea turtles.
